Un commento al Documento
Il seguente rapporto descrive nel dettaglio due attacchi con armi chimiche avvenuti in Siria contro i sobborghi di Damasco della Ghouta orientale e occidentale la mattina del 21 agosto 2013.
Il minuzioso rapporto della ONG è stato pubblicato il 10 settembre 2013 e quindi non tiene conto di alcuni elementi probatori emersi negli anni successivi al massacro. Infatti, la tesi delle forza governativa siriana come unica possibile responsabile oggi non sembra più plausibile.
A più di dieci anni dall’attacco, ancora nessuno è stato individuato ufficialmente come responsabile .

| ABSTRACT: | This report details two alleged chemical weapons attacks in Syria on the opposition-controlled Damascus suburbs of Eastern and Western Ghouta, located 16 kilimeters apart, on the morning of August 21, 2013. The attacks killed hundreds of civilians, icluding large numbers of children. Human Rights Watch analyzed witness accounts of the rocket attacks, information on the likely source of the attacks, the physical remnants of the weapon systems used, and the medicl symptoms exhibited by the victims of the attack as documented by medical staff. |
